Our first introduction to Fran was in Ashford Castle where he was a groomsman for His best friend Davin when we shot his and Julie's wedding sometime back. This time Davin returned the honour as bestman down in East Cork at the amazing Roaches Point and onto Ballymaloe.
Roaches Point is a special place its like going back in time a hundred years or more to an isolated fishing village on the mouth of the river Lee estuary, with the lighthouse perched above the traditionally coloured fishing cottages, just special. It was mid December but the sun was shining and as most of you know we love the low sun and the atmosphere and shadows it creates.
Clare was simply stunning, the gang were great craic and the day just flew by. Clare and Fran we wish you all the best on your travels over the next few years, the memories from the day should keep you going for a good while.
Here are some of our favourites from the day

Leona & Neilus's wedding was the only wedding we decided to shoot in November, this time of year is crazy busy with albums and gifts for christmas so we decided not to take any weddings for the month.
leona is a very gifted florist based in Tralee, we would often meet at various weddings through the year, so when she came to meet us and ask if we were available, we naturaly said if things worked out we would love to shoot their wedding.
The whole day from start to finish was just awesome to capture, the sun blazed (in november) the shadows were long and wonderful, the sky azure blue, the colours in Listowel town where we did the shoot were vibrant.
Leona looked great and along with Neilus and the rest of the gang just had a great time throughout the day, the brief as always was to do our own thing, shoot what we see and how we see it which is just great and our favourites shown below reflect exactly the style of photography we are looking to achieve for our wedding clients.
Special mention to Paidraig McGillicuddy in Ballygarry the room was special due to his and leona's attention to detail the flowers understandably were simply amazing, even Lynch's sweetshop at the reception went down a treat, our little man was presented with a bag of sweets when we returned home in the evening, something now he is probably expecting from all the weddings we shoot.

Helena & Darren are just a cool couple, their story is one of fate no question of that, of how they met, even the sternest of non believers in the story of our paths being mapped for us would struggle to argue against this story. Just to say that both Helena and Darren where thousands of miles from their homes in Oz and Ireland in Asia one deliberatly and one completely by accident, chance, fate call it what you will, meant they had a 2 hour window to bump into each other in this strange country before they moved on again in totally seperate circles, but meet they did and the rest of the journey brings us all the way back to Ireland for the continuation of their story with their wedding day.
The sun beamed, the reception and speaches were outside (yes in Ireland) and the whole day was just cool.
Helena & Darren thank you for the warmness from you both and to your families also, it was just great to be part of your day

From a little village on the very top of Sweden's border with the Artic circle, Johanna made her way to the very mild climate of Killorglin working with Fexco, she didn't bargain on meeting James but cest la vie as they say and meet they did.
A great crew travelled from Sweden for Johanna, the Killorglin crew had been quite since the end of Puck so they were mad for road. The sun shone and then it rained, then the sun shone again, I think you get the idea of the type of day we had weather wise, but we had great fun all day with everybody involved.
Johanna has to be one of the coolest people we have ever met, nothing troubled her on the day and that influence was transferred to James and the two of them were totally chilled and enjoyed every moment of their day.
Thanks for the oppertunity of shooting your day,we now know more swedish than ever before and Johanna we will be taking up you invitation to visit home and experience the Northern Lights.

We got sunshine, a little windy but we got sunshine and in August no less. I cant imagine how many times we have gone through Tarbert to catch the ferry up to Clare & Galway, the road from the ferry always facinated me, and myself and Ev often said it would be a cool place to shoot a bridal couple.
Well we finally got our chance, Claire who is from Tarbert and Mick from Cork when he's not out defending our shoreline, married in Tarbert and moved on to Ballyseede for the reception. When we suggested our thoughts to Claire she jumped at it thought it was a great idea and from then on there was never going to be another option.
We first met Claire & Mick the day after a wedding we shot in Dingle last February that they attended, they both mentioned although there senses were up because they were in wedding mode themselves and taking everything in, they could not remember seeing us interupting the day at anystage, which we take as a compliment for the Journal Art style we are looking to achieve and something our couples along with friends and family often comment on.
Claire & Mick thank you for letting us share your day, it was great fun, we know the work captured is something you will look back and smile on from your day.

Confused ?
not realy you may have noticed Sarah & Will's engagement shoot here a few posts ago, they had just moved home from Wales when we met up, Sarah is from Roscrea and a great job position was on offer, so they bit the bullit and moved back to Ireland all a couple of weeks before their wedding day.
You would be amazed the things that are going on in our couples lives the week of their weddings, moving houses, laying floors in new houses, these things are stressful enough without a wedding thrown in the middle of everything but they get on have a great timeand are totally relaxed on their day.
Sarah & Will were no exception, Will is an avid photographer, so he was enjoying everything that was going on around him and watching how we operate, Sarah was miss cool, no fuss, no stress, no tears (well a few at the back of the church, but thats understandable). Its our first time shooting in the church in Roscrea, it realy is a beautiful church in the grounds of an old abbey.
Here is a couple of our favourites from the day, Sarah & Will thank you for the laughs.

Well the day finally arrived for Aileen & David, you may remember a blog post of a themed e-session we shot with the guys several months ago, that time just flew and next thing we are travelling up to Croom in Limerick to shot Aileens preperations.
The Church in Adare is always simply stunning, the light that is thrown around in there reflecting off the huge gold ornations behind the alter is always fantastic, their day was no different.
Aileen & David's day was the start of a tough few days for us, we had 5 weddings in 7 days that took us pretty much all over the country from Athlone to Galway, Clare to Roscrea, Durrow and Kenmare. Have to say it was great fun and to all our couples Thank you for the laughs.
We did not see one raindrop the whole time, sure we saw it outside when we didn't need to be outside, but everytime we needed to be out with our couples the weather was perfect.
Anyway back to Aileen & David, Aileen as you can see was just beautiful, the detail that we see our clients go into reflects the way they look on their day and gives us such a buzz to capture everything for them as it should be captured with thought and consideration. We spent a few minutes around Adare afterwards and then back to Tralee, unfortunetly this was the only downside the journey taking an hour &3/4 quarters to complete, time that we would have loved to have spent with them shooting. Still we are chuffed with the shoot , we have put a few of our favourites here for your enjoyment

We found ourselves in Newmarket again, shortly after Fergal & Mairead's wedding. This time it was Niamh & Liam's special day.
Having worked with Niamh's family last year Aine her sister married with Niamh as bridesmaid, we were excited to create a very different body of work this time round for Niamh with Aine as bridesmaid. There is nothing like the same house, church and venue for that challenge and we love it!
It is a position that you hope to find yourself in as often as possible, when members of the same family want to work with us, as it means you are doing something right.
Niamh looked very elegant with her vintage style dress, accompanied by a beautifully commissioned head piece, the subtle detail she put into her day didn't go unnoticed.
We were a bit worried about the weather but it never stopped us before.
We have a few images we would love to share and would like to extend our best wishes to all involved on the day for making us feel so welcome again and especially to Niamh & Liam.

The one thing we love about weddings is from day to day everyone of them is completly different for us. One day were shooting in the hotel next day were in Mum's house with all the carry on, there could be 300 guests in a hotel or 20 friends in a restaurant, all making for great photo ops and story telling.
We shot a friend of Mairead's wedding (Aishling & JJ we featured their wedding sometime back) and it lashed all day, but the work we were able to create was beautiful, from this Mairead and Fergal made contact with us to view our work but we were already booked for their date. A couple of dyas later Mairead rang us and asked which dates we had available around that time,I think we had one left, they contacted the hotel, changed the date to accomadate us which we consider a huge complement (thank you) and consequently asked us to shoot their day.
This time the sun split the stones, almost too bright bringing its own challenges, but the work just flowed, all around there was so much going on, its great when plans come together for couples and you could see the relief in Mairead when we met her that morning, because of the weather outside.
Mairead & Fergal enjoy the break, thank you for being so natural around the camera, it was a pleasure shooting your day
