Steadily setting up our landscape site at www.kwoodardphotography.500px.com and while going through archives I came accross this image from Paris I took a few years ago.
I remember being freezing cold moving around montmarte trying to capture the ancient district in a personal way that may not have been seen by many before, I totally came across this angle of the area by chance and is indeed one of my favourite images from the trip.

Just one of those moments again,right time right place,beautiful morning,sun streaming through the still empty branches highlighting last years dead leaves on the ground. It is the simple things that prehaps mean more to us than we realise.

Cinnard is just one of those places that you keep getting drawn back to. It will always appear in a landscape photographers portfolio and the area will always give up herself for something of the moment.
On this day there was an onshore wind so the waves were peaking with fabulous spray all along the coastline and thankfully there is a series of images I am working on at the moment.

This station always leaves me wondering about the past and the people who travelled this line. I know the final destination was Foynes so freight would have been a big part,but the flying boats were in Foynes so the station conjures the 1940's black & white movies feel of people and their lives.
Maybe me but its good to dream and imagine.

Just after finishing a cool photoshoot for an album cover where the light was just amazing late last week,starting to pack up the gear turned around and this scene was moving like a slow motion frame series of the sun throwing its last few attempts of light.

Very rarely does the tide Ebb so much that you can get nearly across to the castle from the point on the other side of the bay. I took my chance going out there to capture a few images, the sands are actually quite dangerous they shift constantly underfoot and you can be 8 inches deep without noticing.
I love this castle on this occasion I wanted to show it within the beauty of Barrow and beyond to Mt Brandon and of course getting weather like this is just to good to even expect as a landscape photographer in Ireland.

Another from the Nature Reclaim series,this old line leaves so much open to the imagination,where is it going,who would have travelled on it,what stories would families have of emigration or hardship and Im sure many happy and good stories to travel with also.

From the Beauty of Buildings ongoing series. St Mary's is a stunning building on the fringes of the National Park in Killarney. Personally the building for me comes into its own at night showing more depth of scale than you would notice throughout the day.

Didn't get the cloud light I was anticpating for this image in the last throws of the sunsetting I was hoping the clouds would illuminate the sky all the way back to the Reeks but it just did not materalise.
This was captured around 15 minutes before sunset,the gorse just looking as if it was on fire with colour,so its never a wasted journey if you come away with an image worth keeping.

My little x100 was again able to pull out an image although faced with fairly strong backlighting the camera was well able to handle all the lighting in the situation. I have been to this site many times and it was the huge cloud formation which caught my eye to compose this image.
